Halogen Bulbs..

Alright, so i've been looking into getting some projectors...but I don't really have the money for them. So i was looking at these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/86-93...spagenameZWDVW

Also, I've been seeing alot of cars around here with halogen headlights...but bright, blinding bulbs. I have silverstar's now...but I want a bright, crisp blue. Are there any out there that can give me this?

One more thing, has anyone ever used the PIAA H4 plasma GT-X? Can I go higher then H4?

The help is much appreciated!

Just put projectors in the other day.
its awesome and worth the price.

The xenons are getting popular too. i remember seeing something about the heat factor of them though.
the factory lights housing isnt made to hold up that much heat.

find out how hot the lights you wana put in will get, and how much your light casing can take.

What about crystal euros or just plain euros? don't understand the desire to have projectors or round style headlights in a car that only has round design elements in the gauges, steering wheel, and tires.

These projector headlights look so ricey. It took a team of people and one very talented Italian to design our w124's and to throw some plastic headlights on our cars that were obviously designed by some 14 year old Taiwanese boy who is obviously into transformers and lives in his parents basement... well it's just wrong.

Get some good glass euros and you will be so much happier when they make the car look classier, more refined and the fact that they will not start to yellow and fog 5 years from now from UV rays.

Following your logic.. would you think my car will be un-ricey and pimp as he77 if i changed my headlight and my steering wheel to square ones? heck maybe the wheels too!

Well, to the OP. You put in what YOU like and think your car will look nice with . Also I got those diamond projector lights, I myself LOVE them. Of course though, you can't put them on an old 300e which has NO up to date style of course, then it would look odd. I mean no up to date style as in like, stock rims, a paint color that wouldn't match the lights as good, etc, etc.

For me, I got them yes, and I think they look nice, EXCEPT I would of liked to get the 94-95 Hood/grille facelift, tinted my windows a bit more, and yea.

Anyways yea dude, don't worry about it. When I first got mine nobody liked them on this board Now a few of the guys here are getting them and talking about them. LOL

In my second opinion . I think that if you get these aftermarket lights and mod your car up to spec I THINK it looks REALLY nice and even classier than you can ever get it But that's just my opinion

I have said it before and I will say it again...this board is full of people who just LOVE to judge the opinions of others. Kind of blows my mind too, because let's face it, our cars are not just transportation...they are our hobbies as well. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with doing whatever you want to do to your own car. Not once in the OP did this guy ask if somebody liked what he was thinking of doing. So ease up people...it really IS OK if a fellow W124 owner wants to try something a little different...even if you would choose otherwise. To encourage other W124 pilots is to keep the W124 community motivated

Well, I happen to be 40 (uhggg) and I think the projectors look pretty nice. In fact, one of my first posts over a year ago was inquiring about them then, right after I bought my car. The advice I got then was pretty monotone..."get euros dude". I'll be getting smoked projectors thank you.

some of them are rather fugly no? innat one of the reasons why we love the 124, the graceful timeless elegance?

compared to the current CLS, s class, 7 series, 5 series, Z4 which will all look dated when their replacements come out.

Really? Thats good to know. I just dont want to blind people in some crazy wash of HID output. I'll have to do a little more reading on these. I want to get the euro housings that Jeff-li has (clear glass, no fluting) and then these HIDs (assuming they dont blind people) would complete the safe-driving update that my busted, grungy, OEM housings so desperately need.

i got my euros so im pretty set on beam pattern, assuming these bulbs are the same as regular bulbs, just xenon gas. the only reason im serious about this now is because its bosch

That "Bosch" kit is not bosch...it's fake lettering, logo on the box is all wrong. That is a generic plug and play kit with fake stickers, yo. Nothing wrong with it per se, cause I use PnP kits but it's not authentic bosch. Just an FYI, my W124 brothers.

Yeh my lights would be perfect for the HID. I ditched them though. How much are H4 Hi-Low HIDs running now anyway? I think this is the type that fits the Euro lights. We get them dirt cheap here, Korean stuff. Around $100 for the whole kit.

As for blinding people, I used to have HIDs on my set of Euros. With some decent tuning, they can be made not to blind but the beam pattern wasn't great. I didn't care as there's great road lighting here but yeh, I was well aware not to blind people too! I am guessing the new lights would be much better combo-ed with HIDs (glass too!! not tacky plastic!!)

Oh and just a note. I think the new lights that I got are made for LHD cars. So that would be perfect for the US.
