steering wheel groan (inside car)
my steering wheel has a groan to it when I turn the wheel
this is definitely INSIDE the steering column
has anyone encountered this?
i want to address this, it sounds cheap....

If it is a groan, that means that you have air in the power steering fluid. This fluid should always be checked and the filter should be changed if you have never done so... most people don't realize that there IS a filter in the bottom of the reservoir.
The sound that you are hearing is most likely a contact sound in the steering column. I would remove the bottom dash panel below the steering wheel and inspect the shaft and surrounding parts to look for wear.
