Hence why it pays to learn how to work on your car, even at the best shops they cut corners. Repair old parts with zip ties and silicone and charge you as if they replaced with new...totally unsat.

One question and one favor - could you post me the part number that sits on that ATF dipstick so I can order one and replace mine. Mine has a locking tab and I want to replace with one like that.

yeah I spend a fair bit of time hanging out with my mechanics whenever I have anything done to my car = I make sure they know i spend a fair bit of time under the bonnet, and I always point out anything I've done particularly well - sort of "I did this, have a quick look to make sure it looks ok..." my guys never cut corners, I also think they are pretty conscientious in any case...

yeah if i had the car when the work was being done to it you bet there would never be stuff like that going on. right now im hoping i get this call back from circuit city if they call back that means i got the job if not then i have to keep looking. yeah i found out that the nuts on the top of the air filter case are banged up and and the bolt is just as bad i cant get in to the thing to change out the filter. so im going to have to buy a new case
