Lowering Help

I was searching through the forums and saw something about lowering your car without getting a whole new suspension, something about getting rid of the spring pads. I have a 1988 260E and was wondering if it was possible to get rid of my spring pads to lower the car even just a little bit; the car sits so high up. Any help or suggestions especially, if this is possible, any articles walking you through this. Thanks in advance.

You won't notice the difference with just spring pads if you've got a lot of gap. You have to remove the springs ANYWAY to do that, you might as well swap springs when you can afford them because you'll pay the same labor to swap pads as you would springs.
