Sorry, but I want underbodylights
Yeah guys I'm gotta stick to my taste and this have been in the back of my mind for a few years now. I wanna put an underbody light kit on my CE. I preffered to use the color white. I was wondering if anybody could assist me with whats the best or who has the best kit? Are all the ebay ones cheap? Also to add I don't want the LED style due to the fact that I want a smooth line of light rather than bright and dark tones that are here and there that individual led's present. I guess I want a really bright flourescent bulb. Thanx in advance!

Get ready to be pulled over by the cops. When my brother was in HS one of his friends had these lights under his Golf. While at a football game he had his lights on in the parking lot and got a huge ticket for "impersonating a police vehicle".
I know it is what you want, but unless you have the LED sideskirt light kit like Brabus vehicles have for illuminated entry, your car will look like a Honda. Get ready for people not to like this idea.

SHAKE!!!!!!!!!!
ok, well i dont know why you would want white, but if i was you i would stay away from bulbs, they bulge out too much and they can break easily. you can get a LED kit that is NOT like the one you described(Brabus style).
most LED kits have a whole **** load that make it one solid light, and a better light at that.
so ugh........ shake is selling his purple ones so he can buy blue ones lol.

Mercedes benz 1991 300ce(RIP), now an 89 300ce
everytime i mention i wanna do this to my friends(for the past 2 years and change) they have told me they will never talk to me again. i just think it would look so cool to have white to match my paint, or gold to match my rims. sadly i think id miss my friends even if my car does look fly as hell. i say, go for it if you want it, the white would look really cool

well they are illegal to have on when driving you can not have red and blue lights on your car you can have just red or just blue lights. i wish i could help you out on this one but i am taped out. the ones i have found go about 20-30 bucks.but they are not long and would not look right maybe tucked up under the grill but thats it. if you want the site here it is but i am shure there to short to fit along the body.http://www.yourhotcar.com/prod/AutoD...EON_TUBEs/5138

wow, alot of response I see. Yeah I would go with led's as long as it can have the one bulb look to it. I think I'll be fine due to the car being lowered and the color scheme-black-come chrome some silver and white. The white leds being super bright might throw it off thats why I wasn't looking into that. Whats this brabus thing you all are talking about? I'm not looking into investing in a full bodykit.

RIO --thanks for the help but I'm interested more in the 2 48" tubes and 2 36" tubes.
So according to all of you here only the brightest of white is acceptable? It's not like its actually being used for vision purposes.

Makhaveili, I would try and find a way to diffuse the light from the LEDs with a sort of frosted plastic or another overy to put over the little LED housing to make sure you dont get such a harsh "point" light effect.

Me either! Lol, I was just thinking that a thin sheet of frosted plastic or some adhesive overlay may serve well to diffuse the LED lights so they dont make hard points of light on the pavement. If you wanaa get super fancy, you could probaby cut fibre-optic cable and make a small disc with the cables running across its face to put over the LED light and that would diffuse it pretty well I think. Hell, you could make some cool trim with that!

Hey, when i bought my car it had neons some kid put on his folks car. I don't think i would cough up the coin to do it my self, but I must say I used to love cruzing about with them on. People don't expect a merc to have 'em, and I could never wipe the smile off my face while they were on.
I found them more ironic than anything, especially as I have the 260e which doesn't really move, so it was nothing like a ricer at all.
Unfortunately i got defected for a dark window tint, and had to take them off to have my car pass road worthy in oz. (also got a fine for having them on once)
I'm still toying with the idea of installing them under my bed: for the ladies... ![naughty](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/naughty.gif)
Anyways, here is a couple of pix of them. The pix don't really do them justice, especially with the stock wheels, but here ya go:

95 e320...sold the rest
hmm..that seems really bright to me..almost too bright
if i'm correct...you want a nice glow, but not too bright, and not too dim?...then i'd go with the frosted plastic idea IMO
