1995 e 420 transmission valve body needed

e420
I brought the car to a tech who has a mercedes shop and is highly reccomended. The original problem was the reverse clutches were worn and the reverse drum over x-tended and sheared the pin off the drum ..needless to say the drum ruturned to its correct position and the trani was fine however the tech said it would not last much longer and reccomended re-clutcheing the trans with a new reverse drum, so I did and when I got it back it was fine for a day then it would not shift out of first to second gear without letting off the gas pedal and the same for the other gears. I brought it back and he THINKS it is the valve body. so He would like to try a new body. I think I should just get a rebuilt trani and be done with it. How about European Transmissions.com how are they??? mike

Quite a few:)
Interesting, so you have to lift/pull the car into gear.. Have you/anyone checked the control pressures on this box? Did you try un plugging the mod vacuum, see if that helped @ all?
Can't comment on European...we do our own transmissions as no one I could find was willing to modify/Build up the boxes beyond factory spec.

However, if you are looking for just a standard rebuild we can provide you with that as well.
