Im not sure How many bulbs it takes on the US Versions, as The Australian Versions seem to have more Objects lit up on the front instrument cluster,

2 in the Dash, 3 in the Front instrument cluster, 1 in the shift knob Dials

And im not 100% sure if all the bulbs are the same

The original dash lights are dim, no good. Change to a higher wattage bulb or LED. Don't go too high on the wattage or it will melt the white plastic housing.

What is the wattage on the current lights? And what's the highest you can go without destroying anything?

I not really sure, but I believe they're 5 watts. Get LED if you can find them. They'll last forever, won't burn anything, use very little current, and be quite bright.
They will cost a little more, but........much, much better.

The instrument cluster takes three # W3W or # 2821 12V miniature lamps which are rated three watts.
Base is a miniature wedge.

Be careful of using a higher wattage lamp as you may discolor or melt the two distribution lenses on the top of the instrument cluster.

Berti,

The bulbs for the gear indicator and the HVAC controls are the same.

I used Sylvania 2721 (1.2 watts). There is one bulb next to the gear selector on the upper left hand side. It is sitting inside a round black plastic holder.

For the HVAC bulbs you will need to remove the upper wood trim piece by removing the 2 screws just above the radio. The bulbs will be behind 2 pieces of silver or black tape.

You are correct there are two top panel lights, my mistake.
They are W3W 3 watts.

You posted two blue lamps, one has a 5 Watt rating the other a LED.
5 watt might damage the lenses, so I would try the LED's.

The 2721 lamps mentioned for the gear selector and HVAC are also used for all the indicators in the instrument cluster.

LED should be safe as they are lower wattage then OEM.
Use an incandescent at 5 watts and you could have a problem.
More watts = more heat !!!!
