Good Suspension?!

Hey guys whatsup!
I'm new to the website, I think I really need a place where I can talk to W124 enthusiasts such as myself considering I can't find any near me haha.

Anyways to the point!
I own a 1988 300E and I really really want to lower my car, and was looking for an adjustable suspension but didn't find anything anywhere ! I'm thinking about going with airride, or if needed I might go with plain ol' springs

If anyone can help me out that would be great!
(tell me if you like your suspension that you might have, did it lower the car if it was springs?)

If you just want regular springs, I'd go with some H&R's. Then if you wanted it lower you could eliminate spring pads...or bump one.

Could you explain that please?
Do you like your suspension, are they springs?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong: But I believe you can choose the thickness of the spring pads, which will lower it a little bit more.

But I have full sportline suspension, which drops it a little, but not that much. I'm getting H&R Springs, Bilstein Sport Shocks, and 500e swaybars very soon. So then it will be slammed.

Curious as why you would want to make such an expensive change ????

H&R Sport springs, Bilstein shocks and heavier anti-sway bars will give you more then enough handling for a stock or modified W124 !!!

I would want to do airride, because not many people have it...
But now looking over doing something like that, I see that it is very impractical. I think I might just go with some HR springs, I want my Benz sitting reallllly realllly low. I know that the Bilstein shocks will effect the stiffness of the ride, but will it make a diffrence when it comes to ride height?

If you do some searching on this site using keywords like "Bilstein Sports" or "tire rubbing" or "E500 swaybar" you will find that just about every question you are likely to have about suspension components and fitments and clearances has been covered. There is a ton of info here if you search it out.

BTW: is your avitar a pic of your car...subs in the rear and all? If it is, you may find you will need to run one bump higher spring pads in the rear to keep the car's ride height level due to the added weight.
