New to Mercedes and the boards.....

Hey guys, Im in Iraq right now and have a 93 300d 2.5 turbo diesel waiting for me when I get home. Its mint and currently two tone, black and dark silver but that might change by the time I get home. I plan on lowering it on 18s, updated headlights, smoked tails and murder it out completley. I also am going to turn up the alda valve and maybe get a kit from grease car to run on veggie oil. Ive been in the VW scene for a while, 89 gti, 89 jetta, 97 gti, 2003 jetta and this is my first mercedes so some things are a little new to me. The vws Ive had always were pretty much OEM+ and I would like to do that to this car too. I do have a couple questions though, where is the best place to buy parts such as headlights and springs? Coilovers are a no go on these cars correct? Where can I find AMG front bumpers and trunk spoilers, or a company who makes similar ones?

Thanks guys,
Max

95 e320...sold the rest
as for headlights, taillights, etc...go on ebay my friend

as for springs, i'd go to www.tirerack.com

you normally can't find them any cheaper unless they're in *****ty condition

I was talking with the owner of the benz shop I used to work at, and he said that cars such as yours often lose power over time due to worn out lift pumps for the fuel injection, and that by replacing this or adding an inline fuel pump, you can really boost the power. he has manuals on how to do it if I am not mistaken. www.mercedessource.com

If you really want 18's, try getting some light weight wheels so that you can maintain great fuel mileage and handling.

Im not to worried about running 18s. Yea it might be a little harsher of a ride but this isnt my first time running aftermarket or upgraded wheels. Thanks for the tip on the fuel pump. Max

The car isnt a wagon though, its a 4 door sedan. Has anyone on these boards lowered a diesel, or have seen a lowered diesel?
