Possible why your heat hasn't been working.
Heat and A/C flaps are vacuum controlled.

Hi there! Looks like I have similar problem. My 90 W124 E300 blower gives cold air on entire left side of the vehicle's saloon and hot on the right side (on all modes). When the blower in on low mode or when I just switch on the blower (after engine is hot enough) it gives hot air at the beginning, but then it gets cooler and cooler. When I turn off the blower at the end it gives a little hot air.
I didn’t know that the heating is vacuum controlled. Is there any diagram/scheme available? Thank you.

I'll try one more time.
The climate control flaps are vacuum controlled.
You have vacuum lines hanging.
Unconnected lines means your flaps aren't working.
Doubtful the lines have fallen off the individual flap operators.
More then likely from the distribution manifold.
Look to the area behind your climate control panel above the radio.
Should be a disc that has nipplies on it.
Push the hoses on to the nipples and see if your control works.
You may have to swap hoses around until you get the correct locations.
