Question about Chrome...
Hey guys.
I have long been thinking about what to do with my grille. I had my hood star ripped of well over a year ago and have been too lazy to replace it. Then one time I took my car the the mechanic, he must've removed my wreath badge on the front of the grille and lost the nut, because it fell off (in my driveway). And of course I've been too lazy to find the right sized nut.
Yes, I'm lazy.
But what I've been thinking I want to do is delete the hood star and wreath altogether, have the grille sand blasted, the holes filled with some kind of "chromable" metal, and have it re-chromed.
I don't want to paint the grille because it would look funny on my champagne-colored car. I think this would give it a very subtle, clean look.
My question (finally) is, how would this be done? I guess I could hire a machine shop to do the work. But I'm just curious how you fill a whole with more metal.
here's a pic of my current, ghetto grille:

Did you modify the grille on that one to make it the 94-95 style? Cuz I would agree that painting it body color on an upgraded hood would look okay. But I don't know about painting the pre-facelift grille body color on my car. It looks good on black/gun metal gray cars like yours, but on lighter colored cars it just seems to be missing something...

****, thanks man. I'll post it when I get it.
But in the meantime, does anybody have input regarding the process of filling the holes in the grill and re-chroming?
