Washington/British Columbia Benz Meet

Hey all!

I want to get a meet together, doesn't have to be only W124's but I wanted to start small and see what we can put together. Any MB interested can of course join us! I was thinking Bellingham WA since it is in between both major areas Vancouver, BC and Seattle, WA.....

Let's get the ball rolling with 3 things:

Member List

ZorroAMG - Vancouver - 300E
Berti_00 - Seattle - 300E
BigPete123 - Seattle - 300CE
MBhare - Seattle - ?
190E-16V - Vancouver - 500E
Benz260Benz - 260E

Location Suggestions

Vancouver - Granville Island (No boats or ferries to get there)
Bellingham
Seattle

Date

What works for all of you?

Interested parties please quote and add your name/location/date suggestions to the list!

Thanks!

Hey Mark;

Where do you come up with these great ideas!?

Actually, beautiful setting at G. Island and restaurants etc. but for more than a few cars, parking is tough.

#1
We could start in Stanley Park and cruise over the Lions Gate Bridge to North Vancouver and out to Deep Cove for lunch and photos.

#2
Start at Park Royal Mall, north end of Lions Gate Bridge, Drive over bridge and through Stanley Park, then Beach Blvd, over Burrard Bridge to Kitsilano, then to Spanish Banks near UBC for photos - then lunch.

Option #1 - parking may be problem in Deep Cove, too.

As to WHEN, perhaps towards the end of the month when the weather might be better.

BTW - check out the W209 thread, CLKs have been planning a big GTG for about that time and Chixdiggit on there has suggested I come along - all MBs would be welcome I'm sure.

I'd be down for Vancouver. Those of us from Seattle could meet here first and drive up together.

I would like to make a pitch for doing this later in the year though... when the weather is guaranteed to be nicer. And of course that will give me some time to do some finishing touches on my car to prepare! But I'd be down either way.

Bellingham or somewhere like Chuckanut Dr. would be ok, too.

Seattle may take more planning.

West coast route, would be worth it. If I come to this meet it will probably be a stop over on my way down to vegas, via L.A, even though I just got back from vegas a week ago.

You guys have it good down there, nice roads/weather and cheap shopping. I need to move down there.

Don't schedule on account of me Mark, not 100% sure I can make it then, depends on my money situation at the time.

I remembered you, I just forgot ask mark to add your name! Invite your brother too ("BenzBro", right?).

And what about 2Phast, the dude with the sweet red 500E from Kirkland?

BTW, I spoke with the wifey last night. It turns out she's gonna be up in Vancouver the weekend of March 30th for a bachellorette party... I could always crash that and hang out in Vancouver over that weekend... But the car would definitely need a wash when I get to Vancouver.

And trust me Mark, my car needs more work than just a wash! It would be cool if I could get my grille done before then, finish my car stereo (and redo part of it), give my interior a deep cleaning, and a few other minor things...

I have an idea Pete...if you do come to Van, bring your car to my parkade, we can clean up your car here, etc...I hand wash and detail my car here....no prob.

myfirstbenz, OF COURSE you can come, silly. That's what this thread is about...add yourself to the list....didn't you READ my post:

"Interested parties please quote and add your name/location/date suggestions to the list!

Thanks!"

I will PM 2Phast right now!

I am in, chances are I would bring my CLK though, not my 500e. My suggestion is to post in the W201, W208 and W209, W202 sections to get a bigger turn out.

It is unlikely that I can make it until mid may since I am finishing up my last quarter of school before I start work mid June.

If we wait until a later date, the weather will likely be much nicer for showing off our cars

My bro... BenzBro is at OSU and should be back in early June

A big multi-model meet in Bellingham or Vancity would kick some ***... If we did Bellingham, we could do a drive up to Mt. Baker? or do Chuckanut Drive for sure http://www.chuckanutdrive.com/

I vote for B'ham since it doesn't involve dealing with border douche-bags and there are lots of good cruises and places for photos along the water... also less traffic...well no traffic, just Benz traffic

Dang I've been waiting for something like this for a while. Bellingham would be sick (since I live here). Chuckanut is a great road, as is Mt. Baker Highway, and I've found Highway 9 pretty good too, but more traffic. If anyone is interested in a little more driving I was just down in Oak Harbor (Whidbey Island) last weekend and the roads are awesome and little traffic.

myfirstbenz has a great idea with mt. baker, but maybe waiting until summer would be better? I don't care really, if there is a meet, i'll go

DANG!! I've been wanting this since I joined MBworld and saw all the people in California having meets and of course now I am leaving for Alaska this Friday until September. I'll be ready for the next one though (we should make this not just a one time thing) because i will have many new additions to the car after i get back from Alaska
