catalyst removal, rear lens link(?) 92 Sportline
"""The 103.980 engine (181 in.³ or 2960 cm³) produces 177 hp or 132 kW at 5700 rpm (with catalyst), 185 hp or 138 kW at 5700 rpm (without catalyst), and has a torque of 166 ft·lbf or 225 N·m at 4400 rpm (with catalyst), 191 ft·lbf or 260 N·m at 4400 rpm (without catalyst)."""
Since they note without Catylyst a hp and torque improvement...aside from legal issues...and noting I am flat out unmechanical, relying on a friendly indy to keep my beloved fleet floating...
Could anyone lay out pros and cons for pulling the catalysts when they fail and just rolling without them?
As a side note, I need clear rear lenses, or something to better match the clear corners I'm looking for for the white sportline, a link to some sweet rear lenses would be greatly appreciated.
I figure the black Sportline will get darkened lens, but not right now.

The USA M103-12V with the catalyst produces 188lb-ft / 255N.m @ 4400rpm.
The actual performance between the cat and non-cat version is negligible.
The cat version is tuned for the cat with timing and O2 sensor loop.
Removing the cat might decrease performance.
Better to replace the stock "brick" style convertor with a high flow spun metal unit such as made by Magnaflow.
You might want to also remove your center silencer and just run the rear unit.
This will give you a slight improvement in performance while maintaining your state emissions requirement.
These forums have helped me avoid pitfalls and -knock on wood- my cars are a pleasure + bargain to keep on the road compared to my former habit of a new car every 3-4 years.
I am going today to pull the 380SL out of storage.
It looked beautiful...but I'll find one at around $5k, particularly since I am in no hurry. It's no doubt worth more, but as a 6th play car, I am lacking in urgency.
