'87 300E heater motor in-op

recently purchased this car, no history. heater motor was working intermittantly, now not at all. ductwork switches and reays for vacuum are functioning, have half the dash out and have not found the fan motor, I can see the heater core, wheres the fan in relation? the fan fuse (outside the fuse box) is blown and has been jumped by the previous owner, it has power to it and was working, my thought was the motor may have been blowing it so they jumped it and now the motor is cooked? I still need to know where it is located, looks like a big disassembly job. thanks

It's not there!

I'm sorry to be the messenger of bad news.
The fan motor is not under the dash but under the intake ventilation grid in the motor compartment. This is: you have to take out those grids under the wiper base. There you will see the flap that closes outside air. Open this assembly and the blower is there. Easier than under the dash mount cars. And more comfortable to work with.
But first make sure is not an open wire or connection from the fuse box to the blower before you dismantle the other half of the car.

thanks Raphael

thanks for the location, after some dissassembly I found the motor with a wire disconnected! I thought it came off while pulling the cover, installed the wire and fan has been working for 125 mi. now.
