95 E320 brake Noise

Hello from Atlanta! Particularly in hot weather, the front brake pads seem to be barely touching the rotors and making noise. When you barely touch the pedal, the noise stops. Also, when backing down a steep driveway, occassionally there's a pop noise. When it happens, I can feel a very short jump in the travel of the pedal. These symptoms reappeared even after rotors, front calipers and pads were replaced and the lines bled. The car stops ok, but has a scrungy sound at the end of stopping. Wondering if there's something wrong with the master cylinder or the abs system(no lights on yet). Any suggestions would be appreciated.

95 e320...sold the rest
My brakes squeak rather loudly when the car temperature goes up. And I know what you mean when you come to a stop. The pedal sort of pushes back at your foot?

Does the popping sound usually happen shortly after startup? If so, it could be the abs self-check.

When you replaced the brakes, did you use stock parts?

Thanks Chappy. Yeah, it's a one-time pop and usually happens as I'm backing down my steep driveway for the first time each day. According to the parts boxes, I used Textar pads and Bremsscheiben rotors, but the noise(s) were already there before I replaced those parts.
