I agreed on not molding it into your trunk for sure. What I meant was just taking a mold of the trunk to get the shape down, and feathering that mold into the ducktail for a good fit.

If I recall the adhesive supplied by AMG was a urethane type not silicone.
Check to see if the silicone will bond to the ducktail.

I already checked...it will stick to the ducktail pretty good but the dry times are pretty long so you will have to strap it to the trunk for about half a day. I just did it when i got to work so the rest of the day it was strapped to my trunk. Also, lay down some tape on top of the trunk and on the bottom so you won't scratch your paint.

oh I want to make sure to mention something to be careful about if you do decide to do your own fiberglass work. If you take a mold of your trunk, be very careful. The heat created when the resin is curing can cause your paint to peel off. Yeah. not good at all.

Naw, I think you want to paint it so it can kinda blend into the trunk. You can go to a pain supplier and they'll sell you a color matched spray can so you can paint it yourself. That way you can see how it looks without spending a lot of money.

Hmmm, I did say 'mockup', but sure I'll bring my pliers and drill an' we can make a few attempts - hope you're not fussy about the paint...
