Instrument Cluster Question
Hey everyone, I'm having toruble with my 1986 300E's Instrument Cluster, all the warning lights come on as usual when the key is turned to position two, all except the light bulb warning light, and I need this as my stupid headlight keeps going out and it would be nice to know when it's out with the warning light working. I'm guessing it's a little tiny lightbulb? or something... is there a way to access this? if anyone knows please let me know! Thank you!!!

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
Get
the cluster tool or make one.Insert in gap rotate to engage slots gently pull it out and replace the bulb(dealer only most likely)

http://danielsternlighting.com/ may have a relay kit that will solve the main problem and he usually carries longer life bulbs.

See
additional info I added above about the 9004 relay kit or the conversion kit.If you tell him who sent you he will reply with tons of things you can do to improve the lighting,he is the guru of lighting

on your model I am not sure how long the speedo cable is to get room to replace the bulbs,so maybe another member can tell you if you need to disconnect the cable or maybe that is part of the fun of discovery

Well I tried with all my power and using anything I could find that I thought would work and that B**ch of a cluster just won't come out, so I went to our local AutoZone and there just happens to be a w124 enthusiast there I told him what was up and he has the tool at home, so he'll leave it for me tomorrow at AutoZone and I'll pick it up and pull that crap out, I bought the bulbs too. Thanks for all the help guys!

Gently
pull it out with the hooks kind of side to side pulls to wiggle it out.If you pull to hard it can break the hook tool.Insert tool hooks up and rotate clockwise to engage the slots in the photo.

Yeah that's what he told me to do too. He said he had just taken the Instrument Cluster from his 190E and it took him 45 minutes. He told me to wiggle it from each side if you need to go up and down. So I'll see what happens tomorrow... Thanks again!
