But just because YOU cant smell cigs, doesnt mean the people that dont smoke cant smell it. Every time I visit a certain friend, I come home and all my clothes smell like smoke. Even the items that never left my bag, that he never lit up near. Ive had friends get in my car 2 days after him and ask why it smells like cigs even though I dont let him smoke in my car.
People that dont smoke havnt built up the same tolerance for the smell, and we notice it when you dont.
Unless youre saying it doesnt smell like cigs, because you dont smoke cigs in there.

There's a distinct difference from having your house smell like cigarettes rather than your car. You can air your car out at 70mph...but how about your house?
And it all depends what you smoke. Menthols tend not to have so much of an after smell opposed to non-menthols. Then again, camels seem to have the strongest smell of them all for some reason?

My friend doesnt smoke in the house since theres a 5 year old kid there. He smokes outside and the scent stays on him, and somehow jumps from him to the clothes buried in my closed bag, and stays there until I wash them.
You may think its "aired out" but to non-smokers, we can usually still tell.
Regardless, I get compliments on them from all the meets Ive been to, Im sure you will too. They add a certain look to these cars that not everyone would notice, but 124 fans usually love.
At least youll get more use out of yours than purely aesthetics like mine. haha.

89 300TE, and 68 280sel
The w124 is not the best smoking car if you like to roll with the window cracked to ash. When I smoked in my 400 and TE I always had to deal with the rain dripping in (it's washington) but without any driprails on our cars those ventvisors are a must, I decided to quit smoking instead of buying the visors Best smoking car ever is my w108, it has the little vent windows in the front doors that have the perfect rain and wind blocking characteristics.
Having an ashtray full of butts and ash will make a car smell, but if you don't ash there and roll with the sunroof cracked and window open, the car will not smell that bad, especially with leather seating which doesn't act like a smell sponge.
Now I have a nic-fit. Must resist.

I always have the sunroof cracked, and especially with this nice weather here in STL...the window's are mostly always down all the way.

It was a 5.2...and was pretty crazy lol

Hooo... now that's a smoker's sign!
Damn those used to be such a cool accesorry back in the days...
The practical issue is there. I'm a smoker too, so on a rainy day, the traffic gets worse, my nervs get strained, and of course I feel a greater need to smoke... so I smoke alot, and get wet... that was the main reason for my last cold "takes another sipp off hot tea"... damn spring rains are a b!tch, and this habit is really geting to my health...
