No response yet...
I don't believe the EBAY lister is the seller....more acting as an agent for the seller..
The funny thing is that the EBAY lister has included the third parties name in the ad as a reference...
The third party didn't realize it until we both looked again at the ad on Monday evening and he saw his name...
Imagine you tell a potential buyer to get references from the third party and he responds with.. " They must be crazy asking $69.999.00 for it, when I told them it's not worth more then...... "![smash](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smashfreak.gif)
If I manage to buy it at my price the car will go direct to the third party to go over the mechanicals.
Good that it's not a four cammer as parts are almost impossible to get for the heads...
Two cam, even if it has to be rebuilt, can be done at a reasonable price.

I'm glad someone who knows what they're doing is involved in "saving" this car. Based on everything I've read, there was only one AMG Hammer coupe made - that's the one? Have you contacted Hartmut Feyhl about the car? He probably built it. It'd be nice to see the car get put back to where it should be.

So RBYCC, what's your plan for "getting the car right" if you end up buying it?
New paint, interior, shroud, fix the front bumper, etc?
Just new paint and new interior could start at $15k+!

The individual the seller named in the listing is actually the person who did my twin turbo and suspension.
He worked on the car for the first owner and handled the sale to the current owner.
My max was $25K.....seller feels it's worth a lot more and will hold onto it...
Whatever !
Seller believes it needs zero work, but couldn't explain why the engine leans to the passenger side and the fan ventilated the shroud !!
Seller also had a older Ferrari listed that he gave a similar alacantra treatment covering dash wood.
Seller did the AMG interior because he thought it looked boring.

I offered $25K and budgeted another $25K to get it correct.
But it's all irrelevant as the seller believes he has something of value and his mods did not hurt the value.

[QUOTE=2PHAST;2795631There are a few similar crack smokers trying to get 25-30k for 94-95 W124 cabs on Ebay also
[/QUOTE]
hey - i have a 94-95 W124 cab...loved it for 10+ yrs before buying it 2 yrs ago.
mine was dealer serviced 2-owner in very good condition and 76k miles. He was asking $24k and i think i ended up paying high teens(i can't recall).
Did the prices drop a lot in the past 18 months...or is this temporary?
for a while, 60-80k mile ones were going for $20-25k. sometimes a dummy would sell it for $15k not knowing. now, it seems like it pretty much ranges in the $13-18k range. anyone have thoughts?
