OOpppps and here I thought I finally found something before anyone else!! LMAO ok ok ok never mind my old news!!

I posted this in the W208 area and told them that the price was WAY too high but was still a nice car. BUT, at closer inspection I did not like how he covered up the wood with cloth, or suede. Or is that how it originally came?

Confirmed by a source familiar with the car that it is very real and done by AMG Chicago.
Originally a Canadian delivery vehicle and owner
It has it's problems such as interior, broken engine mount which caused the fan to eat the guard, textured grit guard sprayed on the lower panels, poor panel fit, questionable respray.......so it needs work.
It has value, but no where near the asking price...

With the info I have from the individual who sold the car to the current owner, even in current condition, it's worth more then $15K.

Seller on EBAY is not the owner, but the owners agent....

Needs work but it is an original Westmont produced AMG 6.0L SOHC

who was the idiot who did all of the body work and interior work?

I just don't understand how somebody can on the one hand realize they have a very rare collector car (and buy it for that specific purpose) but then on the other hand completely slaughter the car with terrible body/paint work and a disgusting aftermarket interior?!?

And on top of all of that, list it at $90k?!? Somebody needs to learn to connect the dots!

Owner obviously is a not really a true enthusist...bought a lot of cars and is now selling them.
Turned gold into something much less desirable

Price down to "only" $69,999.00

I'm currently bidding on it, knowing how much it would take to correct the problems and making a deep but reasonable price adjustment...

At some point reality will set in with the owner, who already has got a quick appraisal that made him not so happy...

This is the fourth time listed and possibly the only time anyone has bid....

You may think its worth more than 15k, it would be IF, it didn't need so much work. Never the less, I have not seen anyone step forward and even offer that.

It never seems to dawn on them that they are never going to get what they are asking for! 6 months of relists on Ebay does not seem to help them either.

There are a few similar crack smokers trying to get 25-30k for 94-95 W124 cabs on Ebay also

Bid is up to 20k for this car, so someone finally did step forward, it will be interesting to see how much higher these bidders will go!

And that someone is me.....

Had a long conversation last night with someone who knew the car intimately for many years.

Calculated in my max offer what it would take to get it right...

If I get it at my price fine, if not they will relist it ad infinitum...

Can you even strip the textured paint off of the body kit without destroying it??

To do it correctly, the body kit would need to be completely repainted.

if you get the amg, will the 300tt(my own clever nickname for your car) be up for grabs?

Doubtful....

My interest in this car is due to some info I have on it...

My price is probably below what would be accepted, but it's a price that the owner has obtained from a third party "expert" based on current condition.

Also looking at a one owner 500E that if the Hammer eludes me, I'll go after...

I buy and hold cars...the 300tt as you call it, I'll have owned twenty years, since new, in May !!!!

Good thing anout getting old is that you experienced things for many years....downside is that you don't know how many more years you have left to experience new stuff

Jeeze, that's a very realistic but depressing way to look at it! ha

You're lucky you have that insider information. If he shuts down the auction and doesn't relist, maybe you can track him down and offer him what the 3rd party said it's worth...

The EBAY seller already contacted me...wanted to negotiate.
I gave him my reasoning of value and my max offer...

The third party, who has done work for me, called me the other night just to talk about cars and somehow this "hammer" came up...

Actually I said ..." did you see the cobbled up Hammer on EBAY..."
And he said...." I maintained the car for the original owner....."

The number I had in mind was the number he gave the EBAY seller last week, when he was asked to value the car !!!

Oddly enough we both had the same number in mind..

Don't be depressed...life is good....older you get the more important every day becomes
