215 40 18 6hift.

I love my Toyo T1R's in 215 40 18 if you are looking for tire suggestions. GORGEOUS tread, good wear, great grip in dry and wet...quiet....

lots of cars
I had those falkens 512 ziex and those are the ones I had to replace after 6 months because i was riding on the sidewalls. They are pretty soft and wear out fast unlike my michelins ps2's. I wish i could have taken pictures when i took them off so you could have see how much of the edge was shaved off.

No..you'd have NO tire for cushion or to protect the rims.....stick with 40, you won't be happy with 35

You're beginning to show your maturity

Couldn't agree more

You don't want to go more then a 1/2" - 1" wider rim then recommended for the tire.
Staying within the recommended range stretches the bead enough to stiffen the sidewall and afford crisper handling a response at the sacrifice of ride quality.

Beyond that and you're risking your life under any high speed cornering

Visually this is what the max stretch should look like as per the tire manufactures recommended rim width.
Shown is my ex-2006 C6 with a max stretch on 1" wider Z06 rims

lots of cars
You can go beyond the "safe" streatch, you just need the right camber, rim width, and offset. Those falkens won't last even with the lip protection and the reinforced sidewall because of the camber on the car. The best way to make your car handle is putting a wider tire, rim, and higher offset. On 245s 40mm offset my car handles a lot better than with 225 and 35mm offset.
