Question on replacing rotors on 95 E420

Question?? Has anyone replaced rotors on a 95 E420? I had to take the brake line off of the cal to reach the bolt to remove the cal. While removing the line, it coiled up and was hard to disconnect. Now I'm trying to connect the Brake Line back to the cal, the top end of the brake line will not twist/ "causing the brake line to coil up":confused. Any advice on this issue???

Please write back.

Thanks

I did all four not long ago...and did not have to remove the lines from the calipers to do so. I'll grant you that it's a tight fit, but I had no issues. What you may have to dod now thhough is to remove the line from the top, reinstall them into the calipers, reinstall the calipers and then make the final brake line connection at the top. That should give you the ability to get everything straightened out and give you more room to work when doing the brake line reconnect at the top. Bummer you had to take out the line, as you now have to bleed each corner to get a hard pedal back.

Be patient, it will work out fine.

Since the OE lines are just rubber and getting real old now (ie dry rot)...perhaps think about an upgrade to SS wrapped teflon lined lines for about 100$ from 'Goodridge' or the like.

You should have been able to remove all that with the line in place btw. Just my 2 cents.

When I had my 400E, I replaced my rotors(which were a snap) and I also upgraded to the SS brakelines which was a worthy worthy investment. When I totaled the car, I took them off and put them on my TE

Buy quality rotors, like ate or brembo(which I got)

you need an offset box end wrench or you need a shallow socket wobble extention and ratchet. You shouldn't have removed the line unless you wanted to flush the brakes too, which is a good idea anyway.
