Turn signals stopped working! All bulbs OK! Get steady light only. Hazard switch does not work either. Any thoughts?

Yeah its probably your turn signal relay. We just replaced on of those on a 400E that had the same symptoms and that fixed it.

Located behind the instrument cluster?

Are both solid or just one? Your bulbs maybe working but what kind of bulbs are they? What I mean is does the bulb have a single contact point of the bottom or is it a double contact point on the bulb?

A double contacted bulb made my car go solid turn signal.

Hmmm...

The bulbs are original except for the left front turn light. I will check all of them later for any connection issues and contact type.

Thanks for the ideas!

All bulbs and connections were OK.

Is there a simple turn signal relay (flasher unit) that can be replaced? Behind the instrument cluster? Read somewhere maybe the hazard switch could be defective and causing the problem. More ideas?

someone who knows definitively please correct me, but i believe its the combination switch, which in '89 was right behind the hazard switch; i vaguely remember hearing one of the Service Tech's at work explaining this to me (and how those combination switches were a huge problem) after i asked about my wipers, hazards, and signals being on the fritz (and for facelifted 124's the combination switch is in the steering wheel slash column somewhere i really havent wanted to dig yet)... hope that was of any help

Combination Relay!

Thanks for your help!

I took out the combination relay located next to the fuse block under the hood. Hmmmm..........something was rattling inside the sealed relay! Not a good sign! Ordered a replacement relay from from Autohauz. Hope this was the problem!
