Ive got a Wagon without the wipers and, as much as I miss them (they are a distinctly Benz accessory in my book), I agree that sans wipers makes the car look cleaner and more modern. Its all about if you are going for the aggressive Benz look or the Super Clean Updated look... (and who's to say there is no Happy Middle Ground there?)

definitely keep the wipers, as already mentioned it makes it more agressive. When i narrowed my final car purchase down to two cars, i picked the one i have now because it had the wipers! my wipers are not even functional any more, but i love how they look.
if you want the happy middle ground, paint them body color, that's what i did. i've gotten at least 3pm's from random people asking me where they can BUY wipers, not how to get rid of them, so i guess it's a matter of taste. this is what i did with mine:

My `87 has the headlight wiper's (functional) as well and I've opted to keep them for the simple reason that they are unigue to Merc's (and some Volvo's). My car even came with a car-phone system (dealer installed) complete with a hand's-free mic and I've kept all that intact as well. If I were you, I'd keep them but perhap's do what myself and ZedStyle have done....paint them to match the car. More of a modern look without loosing a Merc trademark option.

Wipers!

Just converted my 1989 300E to a more modern look with Euro Lights w/o wipers!

Left the amber corner lights on for now, may change to clear markers later!

Here's another vote for "I'd keep the wipers". I think the wipers are a part of the Mercedes identity almost as much as the star on the hood...but then of course, that's just my personal opinion.

Keep it. The wipers hold an elegance to the car that most cars dont have. theyre honestly kind of pointless but i love them and i think its more stylish.

Hey Zed, where did you get your euro wipers? Did you pay alot?

I found the wipers useful for winter driving, but on introduction of euro lights to each car, I've eliminated them each time.

I prefer less to catch the eye there,
but Zed's painted wipers are awesome,
best of both worlds.

He bought the car with those headlight wipers, his car is a 94 so they came with them and look like the euro wipers but are actually US spec. He painted his though which looks GREAT on his car and is the best solution if you want the wipers but want them cleaner looking.

Chuck 'em if they're toast like mine. Cost of repair is more than the value of use. Dummy wipers that are non-functional are lame. I do like the white buggers Zed detailed - very cool.

So... where do you get blank-off panels? Someone claimed they were a $10 dealer item. The dealer has never heard of them nor could produce a part number.

Would I be able to convert my wipers to the 94/95's? How much would it cost?

I already have blank headlamp fills off my 95, so all I would need is to paint it and drill holes.

I actually removed mines to clean up the front end.
I held onto them and the drilled panels just in case
I want to put them back on.

Haha, noo, I love my clickety IBM keyboard far too much to ever replace it. I have however, ordered a little treat for Bucky today, and I eagerly await it's arrival and the time when I can install it.
