the thing i keep coming back to is there is no car like a Mercedes-Benz
so dose any one know where i can get a good car for 3k that is not a total loss
here is the car i drove to day http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/car/718326340.html

OH MY GOD ! Another thread from you...
My only advice to you is that if you can't or barely able to take care of your 300E right now... Don't bother getting another Mercedes.
You can always get one later down the line onces the funds start rolling in. There's no need to just rule out everything else and roll in just a "benz"
Get something reliable where you don't have to worry about keeping it running and costly maintanence.
Continue looking into a Toyota or Honda.........................

exactly... remember that you stripped your interior for the weight savings so that you could cut your gas costs. You aren't going to find a fuel-efficient mercedes, so if you're tight on cash it's a very bad choice both in terms of gas cost and maintenance cost.

Dude, that's the opposite of running well, so why would that make you want the car? Those cars are even finickier than W124s -- I've had two of them. Your priorities are all out of whack. My car is frustrating the hell out of me, so I bought another car (a Toyota) that I know won't have problems until I can fix my Mercedes.
It's obvious that you won't listen to any of us though, so in the end this (just like your sig) is another cry for attention.

:/ Wow, it has the very rare inline V6!
That's a nice looking car, though.

buy a 93-97 nissan altima. everyone looks for hondas and toyotas so the nissans are usually priced lower, but are just as good, and very reliable (timing chain instead of belt, etc.). I had one and it was my favorite car to date. it has the ka24de engine which is baically the same thing as the 240sx, so it pulls much stronger than a civic or corolla, you can feel the torque.

overall, i would say yes...! it was small and i could throw it around, plus leave ricers in the dust at traffic lights! that was a while ago though, right now i would take my benz over the altima... the days of driving fast are long gone for me, and the benz is a beautiful cruiser.

I'd buy it in a heartbeat. If you get it, just change the oil and drive it. Forget the maroon crushed velvet and stuff; it looks fine how it is.

The Suburu is the way to go.
Here yago:
http://www.i-club.com/forums/
Actually, a 135,000 mile suburu is up there, but with tmu, you could have a 200K Suby there. The fire may not be much better than the frying pan, but let us know after you jump.

I am always leery of dealers that are selling a car that seems like a really good deal. They are not forthcoming about disclosing any know problems. Some states have a law that requires them to tell you (if you ask) who the previous owner was so that you can contact them before you buy.
I personally buy used cars only from private parties. I feel that you are much more likely to get honest answers and I consider myself to be a pretty good judge of character so I know when someone is not being honest. I know that a lot of people will trade a car when they have been told that it needs expensive repairs. Most people will not sell this car to a private individual without disclosing the problem.
Just my .02

Thing is that dealers don't do anything to trade-ins. They don't care for them and usually just wash them and put a for sale sign $1000 more than what they paid. I know, I have dealer friends that do that. A private party will want more but will also put in more into the car.
