alittle rust.

Hello every one. I am having a little rust problem with my car on the pillars and I was wondering how I can get the trim off? I there a special tool I can buy or is there a way to take it off? if I take it off and in the process I damage it can I buy this at the dealership?
on to the pics.

these two are only on the passengers side, but both sides are like that.
I want to fix this before it gets worse. Thanks in advance for all the help.

Pretty sure you would have to repaint it in place, but I'm not much for body work. It will probably last for years before it gets much worse. They put a lot of metal into these cars.

Go to a window replacement shop and ask the guys there how to do it. Those guys do it all the time and will know if it comes out or not.

thank you guys for the replies. I will have to go call around some window replacement shops and see what answers I guess. I could do this my self, but I don't want to mess with this strip unless i know I can replace it. do any of you know if any companies make this.?

Just unclip it is the actual answer

1. Open the hood all the way straight up.
2. Pop up the rubber molding at the bottom of the windshield, and move it a few inches away.
3. Fingers under the trim piece a few inches up from the bottom corner of the glass, rock the trim as you lift upwards, and it will pop out of a clip. Watch the bottom as you have to move it around the fender to not scratch the paint.

The entire trim piece is held in place by clips all the way back to the rear window. Both sides are always removed before replacing a broken windshield.

Fix that rust soon because the more it rusts, the harder the repair. I have a 2 cm long rust bubble on the roof right at the top of the windshield on my E300 to deal with. Rust suxs.

So I took off the strip and grinded/sanded the rust off, bondo'd it a little and primed it. I just have to paint it and she'll be ready to go. Lucky me it wasn't so bad of a rust problem. thanks for the input everyone.
