Question Removing engine question

When removing engine, 2992 300 TE wagon is it possible to leave a/c system connected and tie the compressor off to one side so it does not have to be serviced?

It is best just to take it off. One slip at the wrong time while jacking out the engine and there go the hoses. I know it is a pain having to spend the cash to recharge the system but it is even more of a headache to replace the hoses. Just my opinion, but I always remove anything that I am not confident will stay out of the way.

Yes but you will have to at least drop the trans off the mounts. It is alot easier to leave it hookes on to the engine and take them out together. More so because when you put it back together you can get things lined up out of the car which so much easier. There is a bit more weight and size when you are taking it out engine and trans together but it is still just a two man job. I alway go and get a wooden pallet from behind the walmart and cut it down so the trans fits onto it perfectly. When I pull the engine I just ower it down to the pallet and disconect the tranny then put the eninge on the stand for the rebuild. Just my thoughts
