These are rated to go 150mph no problem. Guaranteed. It sounds scary but one of the employee that works there installed it on his AUDIO A3. Nice man. That's where I fit tested the wheel I wanted to purchase. I don't know if you remember my post awhile back. Go and look at them again. Its works bro. It will camber a bit but not too much. It will just look aggressive.

Yeah i know that offset is the thickness of the rim to the hub but im saying that if the offset is too agressive, wont the bolts be too short to reach the hub?

At which offset number do the bolts not reach the hub?

I think they wouldnt. But if you really want them, The tire profile would have to be 35 or lower. And the tires would also have to be stretched. Maybe even have to cut the inner wheel wells. Just get the Carlssons like Zorro said. With those rims you would also have to get adapters for the bolt holes. Thatll cost you another bill.

IMHO, Too much hassle to fit a pair of rims.

Ok, maybe you can use this as a guide. Our cars don't like more than 6.25" back space on the front and 6.5" on the rear. Use this calculator to figure it out. http://www.bigcustomwheels.com/rt_specs.jsp The fronts +42 you would need a spacer to bring it down to +38 and the rear needs to be around +32 so another spacer there. You can make them fit with a set of 4 H&R 5mm spacers from ebay.

Here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/H-R-T...spagenameZWDVW

I've always been a fan of the AME shallen WX but it's basically a kleeman copy with thicker spokes.

what if they were both offset 35's? what will this bring in terms of inches front and rear? in the range or no?

that .5 of a inch makes the wheels .25 inches closer to the strut so when you turn you don't want the wheels scrape against the strut or shock. You need to lift up your car and measure the space between wheel and your suspension. I would leave atleast 7-10mm to be able to bust a b!tch in the middle of the street.

"Mercedes-Benz Gangsta" is an oxymoron ... anyone who ruins a car with VIP rims is just a moron. How do you resell the car? Erase the ballin' image, which means you're just renting ballin' status!

MissWrong,

First off, the tires do not need replacing any more often than standard tires if you drive like a normal person.

Second, while our 13-22yr old W124 MB's are GREAT cars, I'd hardly call them "serious driver's cars" unless we are talking about the 92-94 500E and E500. Yours is neither, so try not to sound all high horse....especially since we can buy 300E's for a couple of grand now, so who really gives a crap what we do to them?

This site is for ALL enthusiasts, from the stodgy stockers like you, to the major modders like berti, ZedStyle and I. No need to act all uppity cause you don't like something.

And, no need for you to misstate my name and make character assumptions just because I expressed my opinion, which, by the way, I'm entitled to.

Post pics of your "flawless" 16yr old car then, so WE can pass the same kind of judgment you pretend not to pass.

its the beauty of taking a 15 year old car and updating it. perfecting the stance, changing the rims, updating electronics, upping the horsepower. much respect to those who actually take the time to rep these older cars why would you leave a car stock when it can be so much more?

To ghetto-fy = going on ebay and buying everything you can see on the first page. These guys choose their stuff wisely, look at their cars...

Respeck. Have a nice day.

Every forum and hobby has it's different type of enthusiast. I've been on bmw (I betrayed my w124 for a year with a e36 m3), mustang, and benz forums. You have people who like to think outside the box and then you have the guys who don't put anything other than O.E parts on their cars. I'm not one of those guys and i don't give out advice on that type of car. I talk about what i know, or at least think i know.

BTW - I just confirmed today that 19x8.5 +42 does not fit the front. It hits the inner wheel lip. Also, 19x8.5 +42 fits rear without any spacer and still has about 10mm-15mm left from the shock. I would live it like so the wheel can camber in when you have weight in the trunk or passengers.

Now before this turns into a free for all, I'm not trying to fight or argue, rather just share my words. I somewhat understand where MissRight is coming from. Unless I win the powerball, If I had the choice over any set of VIP wheels or a nice set of genuine AMG Mono II's even Carlsson 2/6's, I'd take the VIP's sell them, buy the latter, and deposit the difference. I almost feel as if I'm being stereotypical but even the name "VIP" is just a bit obnoxious to me. Even earlier in the thread I noticed that a member voiced that riding on VIPs is "Presidential status, Gangsta status, and I don't give a (bad word) status". Although some of these rims are exceptionally beautiful I don't like the whole ignorant or ghetto mentality that assumes these particular rims mean your pampered like the president, or your a drug dealing gangster, or better yet you have a really bad attitude and sport the "I don't give a F. status". I'm not trying to be a troublemaker here but there is a difference between flash and class. I guess a good example of my viewpoint is steering away from chrome wheels and dark tinted windows, although the wheels may look nice and the tints keep the heat and rays out it will always have that "drug dealer-ish" essence to many people and I personally don't need that kind of attention. I'm more or a driver who wants to attract the enthusiast. With all of that said, I honestly would love to see a set of these rims done right, notice I say done right. It takes a lot of time and effort to make something look classy, and VIPs or not if you can achieve the classy look without being flashy then I say.......FTMFW!!

There is nothing wrong with being flashy. It all depends on the audience you are trying to impress. You can impress someone in compton with a benz on dubs. People would look at you like a tacky **** if you drive that same car in west l.a.

I wanna be flashy with 330mm brakes and a nice body kit. I won't impress people anywhere probably except those who know what kinda work it took to get that on there. We can all try to out do each other but it's not a bad thing. Trying to impress forum members is actually good for your car because you are improving it.

The battle of Old school vs New school is never gonna end in the car world.

All i gotta say is keep it tasteful and keep it real.

You guys DO realize that VIP is only called that because that's how they spell the word in Japanese to english translation. It's actually a word pronounced bippu.

It has nothing to do with actual VIP....although gangsta yakuza started the trend...

Again, I'd hardly consider gangsters VIP.
