Rear Spring Pads

I purchased these rear pads from buymbparts.com. They Sent me the wrong ones and they are too big to sit into the seat. The original ones are 4" in diameter while the new ones are 4.5" in diameter. They arent willing to replace or refund me so i am stuck w them.

Should i cut the pad and slice off a chunk to make them smaller diameter? Bad side about this is that the pad will have slit and possible slip out while im driving?

Or should i shave around the edges to force the fit into its seat? Where the cup shape no longer remains and i only have the rubber pad that sits atop the spring?

Or run w/out spring pads. Maybe lube up the seats and spring before reinstalling the springs?

Im going from a #4 Pad to a #1 or possible none.

Lmk what you guys recommend

I have run no pad before. I had no problems. I would not use the wrong diameter ones though. They do not cost very much, just get the correct ones.
They may have sent you the fronts.

Hey Ronald...I'm changing out my rear pads too and need to rent your compressor!! Why don't we have a spring pad party in socal and do it at the same time...rental fees still apply

btw I just got done lowering my 911...got stiffer torsion bars and had to re-index them and then corner balance the car....its a ton of work...coil springs are a lot easier to deal with.

Well i kinda have to work with what i have, i dont really want to spend another 13 bucks for another set.

But if you guys dont understand what i meant in my first post. Basically cutting a slice of the pad so it would fit properly into its seat. or just cutting the slicing the edges so it would fit also. Lmk what you guys think would work best.

If none seem right, no pads it is.

took the big leap. added compressor lubricant to the top of the springs just for safety.
