95 e320...sold the rest
I'm working on a LS1 240sx right now, and it's the SH|T!!!!
But if I were doing what you are thinking about, it's swap a 2jz in there. Simply because those are made to be turbo'd anyways..

a 5.0 has the oil pan for our cars...it's just too much work on the trans tunnel.

if you're gonna go through all that put an LS1 in there.
plenty of people are throwing those in bmw E36s.
I believe converse engineering is working on putting one
in a W210. They also swapped a lincoln 32v V-8 in a W124 wagon.
oooh wee.

The lincoln is basically the same as the mustangs 4.6L engine. I rather put a cobra engine in there with a super charger. You can find tons of performance parts for those here... http://www.modulardepot.com/

Why not just get a 500 and build it out? For the money you would spend converting one to an LS1 that would seem to be a whole lot eisier and faster. Seems to me Germany already did all the engeneering for you. Not to mention the headaches of all the little things that will happen that you won't know about till you are facing them.
Just a thought but I also understand the desire for rarity factor.

Because down the road if turbo charging is in sight the LS1 is a much more solid candidate for FI....and by proven I mean the most successful engine for a turbo built to date!

Makes sense. I have seen a bunch of drift cars running that setup (240's and such)
