Need help Identifying an m104 part

There is a vacuum line with a rubber connector that plugs into the top of the Intake manifold (cylinder 3)on a the m104 engine. While putting my car back together I some how lost the hose that plugs into it but it is still hooked up to the other end of where ever it goes. need help identifying what it is and where it goes so I can track it down. I know it sound like I am a moron not being able to find it under there but I did...so maybe I am. Sorry no pics yet

Yea a pic does help in this situation,

if i remember correctly there are 2 (or maybe 3) hoses that plug into the intake manifold that go to the front of the of the engine near the camshaft sensor. They plug into a small black rectangular piece (which the name escapes me right now).

I will look at my dads e320 tomorrow and let you know for sure.

This? On the diagram it looks as if it is routed to something on the drivers side of the transmission.

That is exactly it. And that explains my tranny's hard (very hard shift into 3 and 4) thanks I will try and track that down tonight. Thanks a ton that helps me tremendously.

No problem, let us know if that is the cause of the hard shifts.

I am almost certian that is the culprit because It is the only thing I removed that is connected to the trans and it was shifting perfectly before this. I will fix it tonight and let you know. By the way when I went into the dealership to peak at the diagram they had they couldn't find it anywhere and had no part that connected to the manifold there in the schematics they had.

So I found the hose connector hiding under the Throttle actuator plugged it in and the Trans shifts like a dream. Basically what it does is tell the trans when the car is under load while shifting. If this little bugger in the photo is unplugged or the line is cracked your trans will shift very hard into 3 and sometimes two quick thunks as it shifts from2nd through 3rd into 4th. I am amazed at how vacuum reliant the early 90's Benz are. Most cars have a throttle position type sensor for this function.

Thanks for the help Vanwiek.
