C230 wheels on a 300E?
First let me say I did a search but didn't find a definitive answer so I am asking here. I have found these wheels
Stock OEM 2004 Mercedes C230 Kompressor mm size: 17"X7.5", 5 LUGS ON 112mm ET: 36MM offset and rear :17"X8.5" with ET:30MM offset.
I really like the looks and the price is good but I am concerned about the 8.5" rear rim fitting.
Thoughts?
Thanks in advance

Im running wheels off a C350 with the same dimensions and they fit fine.
Tires sizes on the front: 225/45/17 rear: 245/40/17
I have a very small amount of rubbing in the front. Barely enough to take the dirt off the inner wheels wells and paint off of the shocks. Thats only under extreme turning while at the same time entering a drive way or something. Keep in mind that my car is dropped about 3"
So if you plan on dropping it, you may want to roll the fenders.

OK, before I pull the plug on these wheels I want to verify one more time that they will fit. The only reason I ask is that I had posted this question both here and on Benz World and the folks on BW said they woudl not fit so now I am really confused.

lots of cars
Well, the benzworld people maybe have not tried the fitments that we have. I've tried over 10 wheel sets on my car in 5 years. I change wheels every 6 months basically.
So now, fronts fit with no problems and no fender rolling. Rears will need a little fender rolling but they will kinda stick out a little bit. Im running 18x8.5 rears with +44 offset with no rubbing. I had those wheels c class funnel wheels you want to buy and didn't have issues except the look wasn't something i was going for.

They will fit as long as you use tires close to the sizes I posted. I have been running wheels with the same dimensions every day for about a year and a half now. They did not rub at all until I lowered my car.
After lowering, they only rubbed a little in the rear, and have not rubbed at all since I rolled the fenders in summer of 07.

I am real tempted on these wheels because they are in real nice shape and I can get the wheels and tires for under $500 but if I have to roll fenders I will probably pass. My concern is the rubbing, especially with passengers in the rear

Rolling the fenders really isn't a big deal for a decent shop. Basically, make a few calls (or search on line) for a shop in your area that offers the service - if they have the roller, than they are most likely qualified. Just ensure that they use heat on the fender arch while rolling.
If your car isn't significantly lowered ,then you'll be fine anyway.

Well I bought the C230 wheels, brought them home put them on and then took them off immediately. I didn't like them. Oh well, a $475 mistake. hopefully I can recover some of the $$ in a resale
