wow! i use 10-40 year around since i bought the car new never had a problem till this day so this just proves that changing viscosity of oil from season to season it POINTLESS! unlees u live in extreme weather.. alaska winters and sahara summers
I think it's different from car to car. You've had your car since new so you know all the service records and repairs done to it. I've notice on my car that in the summer my oil thins out faster and leaks faster. I have two leaks that i need to take care of but it's not that bad.

I use Mobil 1. I never use nothing, but Mobil One, best stuff.

1991 420SEL & 300E, 2003 BMW X5, 2001 740iL all on DUBS
10-40 or 10-30 will do just fine under any condition just check ur oil after a couple weeks and see if its been leaking
