Any ideas if suicide doors have been done on a w124? I was considering it, but have never seen it done before...

I've yet to see them on a 124. But I'm sure it's possible with the right fabrication and money.

Wiki:
The name reflects the increased danger of the door falling open if it becomes unlatched while the car is moving
I would think the rear door would be rear hinged like the old Lincolns. It would be difficult because the vertical side is short at the wheel well...

The contact points on a sedan would be flimsy/cheap/weak like every lambo door job other than lambos.

The CE is the only one that would work or look right

There are universal kits you can buy ........but the work involved to do it "right" would be rather expensive, especially on the CE. If you've ever open/closed the door of a CE, the first thing you notice is the weight of the door and, atleast in my experiences, door sag.It seems to be a heavier door than that of the sedan. So there will have to be some major reinforcements.

RHW: So why do they call 'em .........

The reason they call them that is due to the fact that it's pretty hard to jump from the car, if you needed to, while it's moving. You have to remember that suicide doors were the norm on cars for years... but I guess people jumped from their cars alot back in the day for whatever reasons.....and died. Not from the jump but because they couldn't clear the door. Hence the name, Suicide Doors. This also the reason car makers stopped putting them on cars(front doors). Also, they're illegal in alot of states. Or atleast that's what I've always been told.

My family had a few Fiats w suicide doors when I was a tiny RHW,
of all the conversions I've seen, this would be my least favorite.
