Just topped off the coolant, lights still on. Dim and intermittent. Any ideas?

Same thing happened to my 400E. I had very small coolant leak at the switch that was shorting the wires. Barely noticeable. I just replaced the coolant level switch and the light went away.

I unplugged the the wire that goes to the bottom of the reservoir and that got rid of the light for me. I guess I should replace the coolant level switch in the bottom of the reservoir, but unplugging worked fine.

It's the sensor malfunctioning....replace it or unplug it and never know where your coolant level is....

Advising him to unplug it as we are approaching warm weather?

Malfunctioning sensor. Replace it.

lots of cars
Your temp gauge is going to tell the story more than a low coolant light. I don't know about you guys but i check all the fluids on my car every 2-3 weeks.

did the same thing.

it's not really relevant to me anyways, cause I have a habit of checking everything every 3 - 4 days under the hood... much more frequently even on weeks without something better to do..

Me too

I will get the thing fixed one of these days, but it isn't a priority because of the reasons above. I am planning to do it when I do the wiring harness, but I'm not doing the harness until I have to do the head gasket and front timing cover. So far my oil leak is so minimal it isn't necessary and I think my "cool harness" conversion may be helping to extend the life of my leaky head gasket. I think it must help to keep the engine temp below 95 degrees C, instead of 105 degrees C.
