Clear Corner Light Legality
I have a 1992 300E. Right now it has the stock orange front corner lights. I was interested in getting the clear corner lights, the euro's. I was wondering if these are legal, i have heard many different stories ranging from "manufactureres will switch to euro styles in a year or so" to "if cops see it they will impound it on the spot".
Well, i was really curious and was hoping to give my MB a newer and better looks
Thanks!

For Canada, (which is most likely to be the same in the US with respect to lighting laws) the signal lights must be amber (yellow) in the front and amber or red in the rear. to solve this issue with clear corners on the front, (which i am in the process of doing) you can a) use yellow/amber bulbs inside the lights which don't look all that great cause you still see a bit of yellow..or the better looking alternative b) get yellow/amber bulbs that have a silver cap on the tip which hides the yellow bulb when the lights are off.
And there you have it...yellow signal lights with out the ugly yellow signal lights ....
Happy motoring:p
And being from california (toughes laws around) You can have clear corners as long as the bulb shines amber yellow.
The only problem with painting bulbs is that the heat either causes them to wear off or burn out faster because of "foreign material" causing hot spots...they do make afermarket bulbs with silver caps but your idea works as well...
