Single DIN Slide Out Screen Issues?
I currently have my stock radio deck in my 95 E320 Coupe and i am thinking about replacing it with a single DIN deck with a slide out screen for DVD and NAV but as all of you know there is a 2-3 inch lip of wood just above the DIN, will this cause any issues with the screen when it slides out? the screen slides out then swivels upward and i want to make sure it will not hit the protrusion above it . . .
Another concern i have is that it will effect the security system in my car and i also do not want to lose control of my 6 disk trunk changer
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance

You should get one of those mounting frames that will let you bring the deck out a little so the screen can fully tilt back. If you can't find any. Then I would just add a piece shim or soemthing to bring it out and custom make the trip piece going around the deck. I had this couple years back, but then decided it was very dangerous for me to drive and watch a movie...

95 e320...sold the rest
I was wondering the same thing. I just bought a Jensen (haha) 7" flip out dvd/nav/mp3/etc...for a mere $199.99. I think I'm just gonna make a frame assembly and paint it and have the HU stick out enough to clear that wood. I'm gonna start this tomorrow, so I'll let you know how it goes..

I had two flip out DVD players in my E420.
Both of them got ripped off.
having the headunit sticking out like that made it a target
and real easy to ******.

I had an Alpine unit in my car for a while. I made a custom piece that pulled the deck out approx an 1" and worked like a charm. I might have it kicking around still somewhere, I'll take a pic.
