E320 light diesel sound...
My E320 has a very light diesel sound when cold, but when it warms up its gone, dose it have to do with the engine shock rubber mount beign worn out, or the hydraulic lifters are not filled with oil yet...

Same here
I have the exact same problem with mine. It goes away after about 5 minutes of driving. I just changed the motor mounts and it didn't solve the problem (the motor mounts were completely shot) but really smoothed out my idle. I don't understand what would cause this only at first and for me its only detectable while under load.

The engine shocks are perfectly fine, ,my mech said that when the car sits the hydrolic lifters drain out its oil, then when you start up the lifters out of spect and it moves all about the place making that racket, after a few mins the lifters are filled with oil and it quites down, my mech explained all about it
