Question Replacing Motor Mounts

Anyone have any suggestions on how to go about replacing the motor mounts on 91' 300E 3.0L. Any suggestions on the steps to take would be a great help.

Thanks

This wont help much if you want to do it yourself but....
I just had mine replaced a month ago, it was a 3 hour job and cost $300 Canadian dollars, should be $175 USD and worth it cause its not all that easy.

First I would like to tell you that the passenger side motor mount is easy to change. The driver side is a slight pain in the a**. Place the car high enough on jacks so you can comfortably get under it(assuming you are doing this in a home garage). Remove the big plastic oil pan cover. Remove the lower bolt for the engine mount and then place a jack under the oil pan to hold the engine up (place some type of soft cushion on the top of the jack as to not damage the oil pan). Remove the mounts, replace with new and put the bolts in and your done. Took me about 1.5 hours at home, first time to do this. Motor mounts cost usually $55+ each.
I didn't go into super detail because this is really not that complicated. You do however need a special socket to remove the bottom motor mount bolts. I do not take any responsibility if the car or engine falls on you!!

Any questions you can email me at cmfracing@aol.com

Replacing motor mounts

You'll need a good floor jack and a piece of 4x4 or a couple of 2x4's to put on the jack before supporting the motor. Loosen bolts, raise motor, remove bolts, slide motor mount out and replace with new one. Replace bolts, lower. I have seen this done several times. You don't need a lift. P.
