Wiring Harness

Hello Everyone!! Well I just got done dealing with the MB dealership and after alot of discussion with the service manager they sold me the wiring harness for $180.00, that was with the "goodwill" from Mercedes Benz and they are letting me install it......however my question arises....are the new harness' any better than the old ones, or will it be expected for me to replace it again in 100k miles or so?

Thanks for the help, Chris

PS...if you have not already done so still complain to the NHSTA if yoo have had a wiring harness problem!

I just had my wiring harness replaced at 125,000 miles. Apparently the new wiring harness is supposed to last longer than the crappy original that came with the car. The problem was the engine would misfire due to brittle and cracking wire housing above the engine area that allow the wires to make contact with each other. It's a pretty big and costly job to replace the wiring harness.
