Repack bearings for a better alignment?

I was told by my local stealership that I needed to have my front bearings repacked on my 400E, if I wanted the alignment job that I went in there for to work properly. They said they were loose.

I said yes. Did I get fleeced?

thanks

Depends. Could be yes, could be no. Was your car making any sort of undue noise in the wheel area or did it have any sort of vibration or shimmy?

No problems like that, I just had new tires put on and wanted to make sure it was aligned as it had been a couple of years since the last one.

I rarely take it to the dealership except for alignments, they are next to where I work so its easy to drop off/get picked up versus my mechanic who is on the other side of town.

I've been told by the indie that at our mileage, unless they've been done in the last 10 years, it's a good idea to knock them out as preventive maintenance
