Tire choice for a 95 e420?

The original size for this car is 195/65 R15 and I'm thinking to go a little bigger. What do you think will work better with the stock 15" wheels 205/65 R15 or 215/60 R15.

Thanks
MB

The bigger the sidewall, the less road noise "in general". I would honestly stay with stock seeing as you are still sporting 15" rims. Any bigger will only make them look more "balloon" like. Not to mention you are stuck with any rubbing. I believe 215/60/15 will be fine though if you want bigger.

The "Sportline" upgrade on the 300E/E320 used 205-60-15.

I think there is a miniscule upgrade benefit from 195x65x15 to 205x60x15. The increase in width (205) required decrease in height (60) to maintain the same rolling resistance as the original tire specs. The said benefit is gained with the decrease of 5 (65-60) on the tire wall that would minimize side-to-side movement of wheel and tires. The same can be achieved by manipulating your tire pressure.
