A couple interior pics...
I haven't posted here in a while....so I changed some of the interior colors...
I covered the A, B, C Pillars, back of seats, trans tunnel covers, kick panels and moon roof cover in gray suede... also changed the color of the lower half of the dash to gray.... I also painted the center wood but those will be covered in carbon from eurodyne.... I also still need to get some chrome pieces...

The colors don't match because of the sun and my crappy camera... but the kick panel is also suede and the door panel has gray perf vinyl......
I posted this before but i'm not sure if anyone paid attention.... shoe wax does miracles on dried out vinyl... specially on a car from 1986...

Btw, the bottom of the dash and the center console used to be black. I used SEM paint with adhesion promoter to change the color. I didn't use super 77, i used another product that is high temp and it even has an adjustable nozzle. I got all the materials from a upholstery supplier that has tons of fabrics and colors.
I'm looking for a 300ce and this is what i'm planning on doing to the interior....
Here are some blurry pics of the interior and door panel... they look better at night...

Hey man I was wondernig if you ever got some eurodyne CF. Cant wait to see what you do with it. I need to tear up my dash on my 500 so I finally get to do the dash trim peices too. Think I should use the adhesive you used, or stick with my crappy-77?

What is the brand name of the adhesive you used?? I personally hate Super77 and if there is better stuff out there for this type of work I NEED to pick some up.

I don't know what it's originally called because the place relabels the cans with their own logo...but you need like to good thin coats for it to really stick...

I did'nt have the time to make molds so I just wrapped the original wood in CF. Believe it or not that is Home depot fiberglass resin. I did it on a budget, $35.97 got me 50"x24" of 3K PAN 2x2 TWILL from sean00 on ebay . The pictures look dusty now that I'm looking at them, the pieces have a mirror glossy 3D shine to them in person.

Looks good!....Have you thought about sanding it down a bit and putting a automotive clear coat on it?
I would totally change the color of that interior...but that's just me...
You know you can get the ashtray from a newer 300e and change the wiring harness like i did on mine... also my c-pillars are from a newer 300e...
I'm looking for newer 300e door panels to do the wood and gray inserts...

I don't smoke so I just removed the ashtray all together, good excuse to keep smokers at bay too .
As for the color, yeah it looks pretty disgusting in the pictures but if you have ever seen that color in person it is MUCH deeper and richer, the pictures make it look obnoxious. Its still not sharp like a black/grey interior IMO.
I may be interested in the face lifted pillars, mine are delaminating after a failed attempt at contact cementing the Tex back onto it (was not aware of Super77 at the time) . What is the cosmetic difference between the elder and child pillars? I was also thinking about wrapping the whole pillar in CF as well. I'm just worried something that different will either look great or land right in the middle of ricer land, what do you think?

If you aren't doing huge stuff you could even use a ridged silicone as a open mold and craft a little vacuum bag setup with a bicycle pump and a one way check-valve. There are many good writups regarding this, google.

Yeah, I think I'll stick with the MB tex then! I think a white exterior with the dark burgundy would stick out like a sore thumb, I think black exterior would be where its at. I have my gps charger wired into a small fused switch panel, however, I'm thinking about adding a cigarette lighter socket somewhere out of sight just for auxiliary usage.
