Oh wow! I was guessing more on the quality of the work than standard pricing. Looks top notch! I may just take my future wagon there someday

What about creating diverters behind the oem screen openings to direct the air behind the fogs where needed? Best of both worlds!

Thanks Nick

This guy is good...working from a picture of "1AMG" and getting the sheetmetal I provided to fit..!!!

Rear should be in primer by this week, then on to the drivers side.

So far I'm more then pleased !

RECARO C

Picked up a set of Recaro's on EBAY...
Just need to get them retrimmed in Merc Palomino leather...
Should finish the interior "period" look and compliment the AMG steering wheel...

Hi Ed, I've been told the electric Recaro Cs weigh 30kg each, is that correct? How does that compare to the stock electric seats?

Those seats will be perfect once retrimmed. Very nice

Are those the same seats as the ones they put in the older G-wagens?

Great deal, that body work rate is about 1/4th less than here in CA!

Recaro C's are back breakers installing by yourself and trying not to scratch anything, do you have W124 mounts or are you adapting them to the power bottoms?

Communicating with a few people in the U.K. who have installed the Recaro C in 124 and 126 chassis cars.
They use the Merc power base so the stock control gives the front and back movement.
A bit of cutting and some welding required to make the Merc base fit to the seat...

I exchanged emails with the guy in UK who cut the flanges on his power bottoms. I plan to do it too but it's easy for me as mine are have W124 mounts already. In 500Ecstasy, someone acquired Recaro adapters and posted detailed instructions, here are pics:

Please keep us posted on the install. I'll be picking up my Recaros when I travel to Germany in a few weeks.
My Recaro C seats

When do you expect to have the widebody conversion finished?

Hi B.J.

Probably start work again this week.
Last week temps were still in the eighties at night...so took a week off.

I've decided not to use the Merc electric base...
This way I've taken weight out of the car and can keep the seat fairly low.

Seats I bought have a manual slide attached with the power back, lumbar, bolsters and heat.

Ed
