Just curious if any one has done this and is it an "easy" swap out?

Yes, it has been done with both auto transmissions and 5 speed manuals. M104 3.2l engines and 3.6l AMG motors have been transplanted. The 16v 190e 5 speed has been used in several installs that I know of.

If you were to use a later model M104 with HFM, you would have to work out the injection issues, I know some have used Megasquirt systems. A early m104 that uses CIS would be easier to get running.

Couldn't you just get the entire system out of a 320 and swap it complete.
