Finally let her go today. A friend bought it, so it won't be too far, but it still sucked to see it drive away.

I got $3500 cash for it, which is less than I wanted originally. After all is said and done though, I can get a nicer, cleaner, newer e420 or wagon for that price and still put money in my pocket. At least I'll have something either faster, or more functional as a daily than the old 300e.

Not to mention I still have the 500e which gives me plenty of

Congratz man! I wouldn't mind a 420, even a 320 but I guess it is worth the savings on gas in the long run. Maybe even introduce a 400E to your 500! Either way I'm looking forward to some pics when you feel the time is right . I still have not been able to track down that color but I'm making an honest effort! Maybe a local auto paint supplier can point me in the right direction.

BTW hows the gas mileage on 500?

It always hurts selling off a friend....but looks like you got some more ideas to get a new one!
I wouldn't personally want to drive a 500E daily anyway. I drive my 260E to keep my miles down on the wagon as I love it so much.

Moving through models like this is a great way to enjoy these cars. And accepting the $3500 is important, otherwise, you are fully married to one car.

It always amazes me how much I like driving the wagon. And as a sidekick to a 500, it'll make a great lil hauler.
