How to roll back odo (no illegal)

I attempted and thought I fixed the one in my 260e, but I guess not. I have another one from the junkyard that has 269k on it...is there a way to roll it back to 85k miles? I'd rather not pay 100bucks to get it repaired.

I also took back one odometer bought on a junkyard to fit in my car. What I did was to remove all numbers and put them in correct position. To take out numbers you simply must pull out the bar which is engaged to last gear by presion (the other gears with the numbers move thanks to little white gears over the numbers).

To mount you must set numbers in correct position one by one whereas introduce the bar taking care they get fixed by little white gears. You need pacience to do it well!!

The partial counter it's easy to fix. First you must set main odometer without little black gear who conects both counters. Then press the reset button a little (not full) and partial counter will remain free, set correct indication. Finally put the little black gear who conects to main counter.

Another recomendation: take care with the tachometer constant K. If odometer you take in junkyard is different (because is from another car) you need to take the gears from your odometer to get not errors in the counters.
