Change key and locks?

Hello,

I just purchased e320 sedan. I don't know anything about the car, but I just bought it since I wanted to have something different than what I used to drive.
Long story short, I got frauded and I kind feel unsafe that I got only one key from the seller.
I want to change the key and locks on my car....is it expensive?
Has anyone done it?

Thanks.

lots of cars
Maybe the story needs to be longer? You'll need to take your car to the dealer , bring a photo id, and registration and they can order you a new set of key. It'll cost some $$ to do all that.

What's "expensive" to you? Check the dealer for their costs unless you have a donor parts car you can take all the locks & keys.

For security, just add an alarm. It's best to keep the same locks coded to the VIN in case you need to replace keys or locks.

Thank you for the replies.

Yeah the more I think about it, it might be too much hassle and $$. I will just put alarm.

A new tumbler and two door locks are cheap? I'm pretty sure an alarm is cheaper.

Get insurance? People often sell with 1 key, I just found a key to one of my old motorcycles and a couple of my old cars recently.
