ABS problem

I have an 1992 300CE, just got it two weeks ago, 100k miles on it, clean but trying to fix small issues here and there... nothing major.

One weird problem i have is that when i turn on the headlights, the ABS light comes on in the dashboard and when i turn the headlights off, ABS light goes off.

Is this some sign of something going on with the ABS or is it just an electrical problem?

Beside this, all seem to work fine, brakes feel right, when i start the car all the light checks work correctly in the dashboard and do seem to function right : for high beam, for parking brake, light come on and off correctly... just the ABS acts up when headlights are on...

any inputs?

thanks

My only guess is that someone may have had the cluster out and may have have plugged a warning lamp bulb into the wrong spot. Maybe light out warning? You may want to pull and check if the lights are plugged in right, the wires are numbered for proper placement.

^ Good point, but before you start pullg it out make sure though that the fuse on the OVP is good. Most ABS lights 95% of the time are OVP related.
