In useful news, did you transfer the entire strut mount metal from an e36 chassis? I see the double firewall is gone. Or does the custom mount attach to the stock locations?

no modifications for strut mount metal needed. custom mount what usually comes with coilovers kit fits into stock place.
and no reinforcements needed. stock strut mount metal made strong enough to support vehicle weight even in most extreme situations. but if your car is rust bucket, you should fix that

5 stars for the major breakthrough at the interchange department. Very seldom do we thank bmw but this is one of those times.
You've unlocked a new dimension in Need For Speed W124

Since Racelands fit for w124s, Its possible to interchange for a different set of struts, since people on the raceland forums have been saying that raceland is not that great to perform with...

I assume the weight distribution is near 50/50 on an e36. But weight is to be considered too as these struts were not made to spec for w124. I say the dual spring setup is necessary but which springs... and that will differ based on the brand of coil overs too.
I think the rear is fine with the bilstein sports and vogtland springs, a 500e sway, camber kit and wide tires... Obviously it will be a lot more "slippery" due to the uber stiff front.
On my car, the rear end with the setup above = whack harsh but not too much roll. Not too sure how to improve the back end towards better steering response ... even flying dtm cars have their rear wheels drop lower than the fronts thus softer.
It's not gonna be easy to setup to maintain over/under steer ratios. I would start with brake upgrades to have better skid control tho. A sportline steering box. And of course LSD.
